Freelancer is not the one to pay money

First, you have to understand that all online earning money websites won’t let any client directly give or take money. Thus, they have a secure mechanism to deal between clients and freelancers. Moreover, if any client asks to send money, you should not send anyone outside of the freelancer website. Even if you are not the one to pay money.

Let me explain that explicitly. Whenever a client asks you to send a refundable security deposit fee. You should ask the client either you are working for him or the client want to work for you. If you are working for the client. Then the client should send you money. Who guarantees you that client will pay you after you will complete the project? For that reason, the client should deposit security for a freelancer as I strongly believe.

How to Secure Yourself on First Project

There are all possible ways where the freelancing platform secures you itself. The website will guide how to work with the client. So whenever, you are going to accept your first project. You have to keep these points in your mind before accepting the project.

  1. First, you have to check the registration date of the client. If the client has recently registered himself then there is the immense possibility that the person is a scammer. However, it is not the case every time.
  2. You must check either the client’s profile is verified or not. If verified then you can work with that person.
  3. Before accepting the project, you must ask the client to create a milestone, and once the client must create the milestone then accept the project. Remember without milestones, you must not accept the project. Because the website will take a 20% project fee once you will accept the project. To make yourself secure, you have to ask the client to create a milestone.
Milestone is one way where clients deposit money but the money will not send to your account. Instead, it will save to the freelancer website itself. Once you will complete the project then you will ask the client to release the milestone and then you will receive the money.
